A New York woman was arrested in Connecticut on Tuesday when state troopers allegedly clocked her going more than double the speed limit on Interstate 95 in the early morning hours.
The driver was spotted around 1:20 a.m. on I-95 South in Stratford by a trooper doing traffic enforcement who allegedly saw an Audi A5 going very fast north of Exit 33, according to Connecticut State Police.
The vehicle was allegedly clocked at 118 mph in a 55 mph zone and was seen being driven too close to a vehicle in front of it, state police said. The driver was also allegedly not staying in one lane, according to state police.
The driver was pulled over and identified as 33-year-old Inga Foksha of New York, New York. She was taken into custody and charged with reckless driving, second-degree reckless endangerment, failure to maintain the proper lane, following too closely and operating a motor vehicle without minimum insurance.
State police said Foksha was later released on a $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on Oct. 6.
