Oakland Mall partially reopened at 11 a.m. today, July 19, after a burst pipe flooding the inside the building and parts of the parking lot, according to a Facebook post.
The mall team announced on Facebook that it would be closed starting Wednesday, July 16, to work with industry experts, local police and fire departments to resolve the problem.
ServPro, a cleanup and restoration service, completed a professional assessment of the center, according to the Facebook post. The areas reopening meet the safety and occupancy standards, it says.
The east corridor of the mall remains closed to the public, however a variety of stores and the food court will be reopened, they say.
The post lists the affected stores: Snipes, Children’s Place, Donna Sacs, Express, Jimmy Jazz, VIP Wear, Same Day Customs, Foot Locker, Spencer’s, GEMU, Hot Topic, DQ and Journeys.
The mall team is working with these tenants to find places to temporarily relocate.
Additionally, the Tree Hugger Farmers Market originally scheduled from from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 20, has been postponed and a new date has not been announced, according to an Instagram post.
According to the statement, “the mall thanks the City of Troy, our contractors, and the entire Oakland Mall staff for their efforts throughout this week.”
