Apr. 30—ST. MARYS — The Ohio Department of Agriculture has issued a final permit to operate renewal for Wilker Eggs and Grain Farm, 10675 Tri Township Road, St., Marys, according to the Ohio Department of Agriculture’s Livestock Environmental Permitting office.
The final permit will last for five years.
The facility consists of two layer houses, with house No. 1 undergoing renovations to convert a belt battery system and a portion of the existing barn into a manure storage barn. After remodeling is complete, house No. 1 will accommodate 348,420 birds and will store 194,180 cubic feet of manure, providing approximately 160 days of storage.
The final permit may be appealed. The notice of Appeal and the filing fee must be sent to: Environmental Review Appeals Commission, 30 E. Broad St., 4th floor, Columbus, Ohio, 43215, by 5 p.m. Friday, May 23.
