One person has been injured in a shooting involving Columbus police on the city’s Southeast Side.
The shooting happened about 5:15 p.m. Sept. 19 in the 1400 block of Burstock Road near Deshler/Fairwood Park, according to a Columbus police dispatcher.
No officers were injured, but one person was wounded after they were shot by officers, according to Fraternal Order of Police president Brian Steel. The condition of the suspect is unknown at this time, Steel said.

Columbus police radio traffic indicated that a suspect in a vehicle that fled from a traffic stop began running from the vehicle on foot. During the foot pursuit, police fired at the suspect who was hit and taken into custody. The Dispatch has a reporter en route to the scene to confirm that report.
Columbus police have closed off streets and intersections in the area while they investigate.
