In 2025, The Sentinel is providing a weekly round-up of the biggest topics in upcoming municipal meetings, giving our readers a chance to engage with their local officials on the projects, appointments and decisions that hit closest to home.
These round-ups are written on Fridays and updated online Mondays. Municipalities are not required by the Michigan Open Meetings Act to provide an agenda in advance of a meeting, but they are required to provide notice. Please visit your local municipality website for the most updated information.

Park Township Offices
Park Township
Planning Commission: 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 24, at the Park Township Offices
The agenda includes:
A public hearing for a major amendment of the existing PUD for Point West I. The PUD was approved in 2011 and includes a variety of cottage-style housing types along with a number of private roads. The primary consideration for this application is whether changing the open space from being a single parcel with one owner to being distributed among several individual owners aligns with the spirit and intent of the ordinance. Somewhat unusually, the open space is and has been owned by an individual landowner rather than by the neighborhood, according to the meeting packet.
A preliminary development plan review of the Foxglove Site Condominium PUD. The project proposes 32 single-family homes with private roads, a dry retention area, a neighborhood pool and firepit on 15 acres on 32nd Street, a little west of Old Orchard Road, according to the meeting packet.
A public hearing regarding a zoning ordinance amendment that will cease allowing boat storage in old agriculture buildings, because it allows a back door to non-agricultural commercial activities, as well as introducing significant issues in gaining compliance with building code, according to the meeting packet. Existing boat storage operating in alignment with current ordinance will become a non-conforming use and will not be affected.
