Jun. 17—A Palouse woman who admitted to causing a crash last summer that killed three Davenport men was sentenced to more than a year in jail.
Jade A. Ellsworth, 29, pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide Monday afternoon in Davenport’s Lincoln County Superior Court. Ellsworth was slated to begin a jury trial on June 25, but she confessed after reaching a tentative plea agreement.
Ellsworth was initially arrested on three charges of vehicular homicide in connection with the deaths of Alan Kysar, 26, Braedon Efraimson, 26, and Blake Wilson, 24, court documents said.
The victims’ families had advocated that Ellsworth face a single count with the concern of affecting her 6-year-old daughter.
Court documents revealed that in June 2024, Ellsworth collided with a vehicle occupied by Kysar, Efraimson and Wilson at the intersection of Harrington-Tokio and Mohler roads south of Davenport after failing to yield at a stop sign.
Ellsworth told authorities she didn’t see the stop sign due to the glare from the sun and driving in an unfamiliar area. Court documents said Ellsworth had been traveling around 65 mph in an area with a posted 50 mph speed limit following GPS directions to Lake Chelan.
Investigators determined drugs and alcohol weren’t factors in the crash. Court documents indicate Ellsworth was operating a vehicle without a valid driver’s license.
During the hearing, family of the victims testified to the great deal of turmoil that losing sons, brothers and active members of the Davenport community has caused.
