LEHMAN TWP. — A Bushkill man faces a strangulation charge after troopers responded to a residence on the 3200 block of Bluebird Drive on Friday around 9:15 p.m. for the report of a domestic called in by a man who said he was sitting on top of his wife, according to a Pennsylvania State Police news release.
Troopers heard the woman screaming that she couldn’t breathe during the call, police said.
When troopers arrived, Patrick Manthe admitted assaulting and restraining his wife, according to the PSP release.
The woman, who detailed the manner of the assault to troopers, suffered injuries to her neck and upper arm, police said.
As of Sunday, Manthe, 52, remained in custody at the Pike County Correctional Facility, troopers said.
