Thor, a Michigan State Police K9 who was poisoned on the job, has made a full recovery, the agency announced.
On May 30, Thor was helping Lapeer County deputies on a breaking and entering call when Thor ingested suspected poison in a barn. He was immediately rushed to Michigan State University’s Veterinary Medical Clinic.
“Please send paws-itive healing thoughts for a quick recovery,” Michigan State Police’s third district wrote on social media.
By June 2, Thor was doing well and recovering at home with his handler, the agency said. And by June 5:
“We’re so happy to announce that Thor has returned to duty and is back serving his community with his handler, Tpr. Dougherty.”
Michigan State Police thanked those who sent well wishes.
