DELHI TWP. — A 16-year-old girl was seriously injured during an incident in Holt on the morning of Wednesday, June 18, police said.
The Ingham County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded for a reported assault in the 4000 block of West Holt Road about 8:40 a.m. and learned that a 20-year-old woman had “illegally entered” a residence and assaulted the teenager with a weapon.
The girl was treated at a hospital for serious injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, sheriff’s officials said in a news release. The suspect was gone, and the investigation was ongoing, they said.
Officials did not specify what type of weapon was involved and declined to release further details.
“This was an isolated/targeted incident, and we do not believe there is a continuing danger to the public,” the release said. “Anyone with further information is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Brandon Doerr at 517-676-8251.”
