Apr. 15—KINGSTON — Kingston police said they are seeking the whereabouts of William John Fox IV on an arrest warrant alleging he passed fraudulent game of chance tickets for cash at a convenience store in 2024.
Fox, 43, last known address as rear 900 Main St., Hanover Township, is charged with three counts of criminal conspiracy and one count each of theft and possessing instruments of crime. An arrest warrant was issued for Fox on Aug. 6.
According to the criminal complaint:
Kingston police detectives investigated an alleged scheme involving tickets for game of chance machines at the Sunoco service station on Market Street on Jan. 22, 2024.
Surveillance footage showed Fox entered the business and played game of chance machines. Fox left the store but returned hours later allegedly with Melissa Lynn Pruveadenti, 46, of Hanover Township, and played game of chance machines.
Fox and Pruveadenti redeemed a ticket receiving $250 from the store only for workers to discover the ticket was fraudulent, the complaint says.
Police in the complaint say Fox and Pruveadenti returned to the store and a store clerk told Fox to repay the $250 for the earlier fraudulent ticket but Fox left the store without making the requested restitution.
Then, on March 17, 2024, police allege Fox and a woman were inside a tobacco retail store in West Pittston where he was recorded by surveillance cameras forcing open a game of chance machine and stealing tickets.
Pruveadenti denied any involvement in the ticket scheme but told police she purchased a game of chance ticket from a friend.
Pruveadenti is facing charges of theft and criminal conspiracy in Luzerne County Court.
