PPD investigating fatal shooting at Pensacola Village apartments; suspect still at large

The Pensacola Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting May 30 at the Pensacola Village apartment complex on East Fairfield Drive.

According to a PPD spokesperson, there was one shooting victim who died after being transported to a local hospital.

At this time, the suspect/suspects in the incident are still at large.

This shooting is the third incident of serious violence to occur at the complex in just over a week.

On May 23, a woman was stabbed in the chest. Investigators later arrested 35-year-old Nicholas Mack for alleged aggravated battery in the incident. He remains in Escambia County Jail on$100,000 bond.

On May 28, officers discovered a man with a gunshot wound to the leg at Pensacola Village around 1 a.m. The injury is was not life threatening, according to the PPD. The circumstances around the shooting are unknown, and further information was not released.

It is unknown if any of the events are connected.
