Jun. 10—A Pullman man has been accused of a road rage incident that almost forced a vehicle off the road Friday afternoon in Pullman.
Michael Edwards, 55, made an initial appearance Monday in Colfax’s Whitman County Superior Court for alleged second-degree assault and reckless driving. Judge Roger Sandberg said if convicted, Edwards faces up to 10 years behind bars for felony assault.
Court documents show Pullman Police Department officers were called around 4 p.m. Friday to Southeast Terre View Drive when a man informed Whitcom 9-1-1, the region’s dispatching agency, he was supposedly attacked by Edwards’ vehicle.
The driver told authorities he and three other passengers were reportedly rammed three times by Edwards.
Court documents show Edwards allegedly followed a vehicle turning off Washington State Route 270 and hit the back of the car. Edwards supposedly pulled into the oncoming traffic lane on Terre View to strike the vehicle on the driver’s side, which forced it to the curb. Edwards then reportedly drove in front of the car before slamming on his breaks, which caused a third collision.
One of the passengers suffered minor injuries during the incident, according to court documents.
