‘Radicals On The Left Are The Problem’ After Kirk Assassination

Must read

President Donald Trump pledged to use the full power of his administration after the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk. He promised sweeping measures to confront what he called “vicious” left-wing extremism.

As previously reported by The Dallas Express, Kirk, 31, was assassinated Wednesday during a Q&A at Utah Valley University. The appearance marked the first stop of his “American Comeback Tour,” which had been traveling to campuses nationwide.

“I tell you something that is going to get me in trouble, but I couldn’t care less,” Trump said on Fox & Friends. “The radicals on the right are radical because they don’t want to see crime. The radicals on the left are the problem – and they are vicious and horrible and politically savvy. They want men in women’s sports, they want ‘transgender’ for everyone, they want open borders. The worst thing that happened to this country.”

The White House said it is creating a comprehensive plan to address political violence.

“We were already working — spurred not only by Charlie’s tragic passing but also by the killing of a Ukrainian woman in a train attack earlier this year — on a more comprehensive plan on violence in America, the importance of free speech and civil speech, and the ways that you can address these – they can only be called hate groups – that may breed this kind of behavior,” White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles told radio host Scott Jennings.

“In the coming days, the president will be telling the American people about what we plan to do,” Wiles continued. “It will not be easy. There’s layer upon layer upon layer, and some of this hate-filled rhetoric is multigenerational, but you’ve got to start somewhere.”

The administration’s pledge comes amid outrage over reactions to Kirk’s assassination. As previously reported by The Dallas Express, left-wing activists online responded with glee. Supporters say the reaction underscores the need to double down on the values Kirk championed — God, family, and country.
