Lower Hudson Valley residents are starting off their week with more showers the morning of Monday, April 7, with the rest of the week bringing spots of showers and chilly weather into the budding spring season.

Showers overnight Sunday persisted through Monday morning, with commuters facing patchy fog conditions and saturated streets, a forecast from the National Weather Service says. The rain is expected to continue until around 11 a.m., when skies remain partly cloudy. Temperatures could reach around 43 degrees.

In the evening, skies will remain cloudy and rain could return before midnight. Temperatures could dip to around 33 degrees overnight.

The sun is expected to make an appearance Tuesday, but temperatures will remain chilly at 43 degrees. However, wind chill values between 20 and 30 and winds up to 20 miles per hour could make temperatures feel colder.

Tuesday night skies are predicted to look mostly clear, with frigid temperatures near 27 degrees. Wind chill values between 20 and 25, along with winds up to around 29 miles per hour could make the night feel like temperatures are even colder.

On Wednesday, the sun returns again with clear skies and high temperatures near 47. Commuters could wake up to frost on their cars Thursday morning after temperatures below freezing overnight.

Residents should expect rain for the rest of the week through Sunday, when sunny skies and high temperatures near 60 degrees are expected to return.
