A Rangers fan has died after becoming unwell during the Scottish Premiership match at Ibrox against Dundee on Saturday, the club has confirmed.
Police Scotland said the 70-year-old man, who has not been named, was taken from the stadium to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
An earlier statement from Rangers, released on X, said: “Everyone at Rangers is devastated to have learned of the passing of one of our supporters at yesterday’s match with Dundee.
“The thoughts of the entire club are with their family and friends. We will be reaching out to the family to offer our support at this deeply sad and difficult time.”
A Dundee FC spokesperson said: “All at Dundee Football Club were extremely saddened to learn of the passing of a Rangers supporter at our match yesterday at Ibrox.
“Our thoughts are with the supporter’s family and friends at this time.”
A police spokesperson said there were no suspicious circumstances.
The game, which kicked off at 17:45, finished 1-1 after James Tavernier’s late penalty rescued a point for the home side.
