Thiruvananthapuram – Republican Party National Secretary General, Dr. Rajeev Menon, has raised serious concerns regarding the allegations made by MLA PV Anvar against Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Dr. Rajeev Menon emphasized the gravity of the situation and has demanded an immediate response from the Chief Minister, calling for him to step down and allow an impartial, central investigation to take place.

In a recent press conference, Dr. Menon remarked, “The allegations raised by MLA PV Anvar are of a serious nature. If these claims are true, it is crucial that the facts be proven transparently. The CPI(M) and the Kerala government appear to be in a state of crisis, and it is clear that the investigation into these matters is not progressing in the right direction.”

Dr. Rajeev Menon pointed out significant flaws in the ongoing investigation, stating that the investigating team itself is under suspicion. He explained, “The investigation seems to be moving off course, and there are serious doubts about the credibility of the team conducting it. When the investigators themselves are under suspicion, how can we expect an unbiased outcome?”

According to Dr. Menon, the allegations target not only the Chief Minister but also high-ranking officials within his administration. MLA PV Anvar has accused the Chief Minister’s political secretary, P. Sasi, and ADGP Ajith Kumar of failing to uphold their duties, further deepening the concerns regarding the integrity of the Kerala government. “The involvement of top officials in such cases raises fundamental questions about the state of law and order in Kerala,” said Dr. Menon.

Dr. Rajeev Menon did not mince words in his demand for a central investigation. He urged Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to resign from his position to ensure an impartial probe into these serious allegations. “Given the nature of the accusations, it is in the best interest of Kerala and its people for Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to step aside and allow a central investigative agency to take over. This would ensure transparency and restore faith in the state’s governance,” he stated.
He further elaborated, “PV Anvar’s press conference was a scathing attack on all political leaders in Kerala. The state has seen too many scandals in recent times, and the people deserve answers. These are not just simple accusations but serious claims that challenge the foundation of the government.”

Dr. Menon predicted that the situation in Kerala could lead to a collapse of the CPI(M), similar to what happened in Tripura and West Bengal. He noted, “We are witnessing the same scenario here in Kerala. The CPI(M) and the state government are facing immense pressure, and it is likely that we will see a political collapse on the scale of what happened in Tripura and West Bengal. The seriousness of these allegations cannot be downplayed.”

One of the most pressing concerns raised by PV Anvar, and echoed by Dr. Menon, is the involvement of the police in gold smuggling activities. During his press conference, Anvar presented video evidence allegedly showing police officers engaged in illegal activities. Dr. Menon questioned why, despite this evidence, the Chief Minister and the police seem to be protecting those involved.

“The fact that such serious evidence has been presented, yet no action has been taken, is alarming. It is clear that the investigation is being obstructed, and those responsible are being shielded. The people of Kerala deserve to know the truth, and this can only happen with a proper, unbiased investigation,” said Dr. Menon.

Dr. Rajeev Menon concluded by reaffirming his demand for a thorough investigation and the resignation of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. He stated, “The Chief Minister must take responsibility for what is happening in his administration. The allegations against him and his office cannot be ignored, and the people of Kerala deserve an answer.”
