A 33-year-old Sanford man was recently arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon, a felony, when he allegedly used a cutting tool to injure.
Darius Kavon Thompson was arrested July 21 after allegedly seriously injuring Akia Shonta Mcauley on July 19.
Thompson was also charged with communicating threats and assault by pointing a gun stemming from June 27.
In that case, he allegedly pointed a Glock pistol at the head of Breana Hill and said he was going to shoot her.
Thompson was issued a total secured bond of $42,500 on July 21, which he posted that day when Priscilla Thompson paid $3,750, according to eCourts.
He has a disposition hearing set for Aug. 13.
He pleaded guilty to assault with a deadly weapon in 2019 in Harnett County and was sentenced to 54 days in jail and $720 in fines and fees. As July 24, he had paid nothing, according to eCourts.
Previously a resident of High Point, Thompson has a number of arrests since 2008. In that year, he was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon in Lee County. It was dismissed. No details were available in eCourts. At that time, Thompson was 16.
In 2009, he was convicted of robbery with a dangerous weapon in Lee County. He was given house arrest with electronic monitoring and three years of supervised probation.
