Action News has learned the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office is assisting the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office with a search operation southwest of Coalinga.
The search is happening in a rugged area off Highway 198 near the Curry Mountain Trailhead.
Authorities have not yet revealed the focus of their search, but the two agencies have recently been working to find a missing Coalinga woman.

Isabel Lucas Velasco was last known to be in San Luis Obispo County on September 12. She has ties to both Coalinga and Visalia.
On Monday, San Luis Obispo County sheriff’s detectives reported that they seized two trucks as evidence.
Investigators say the circumstances around Lucas Velasco’s disappearance are suspicious.
Detectives had been asking for any tips related to sightings or interactions with either of the vehicles on the night of September 12, or the day of September 14 in the areas of Coalinga and Avenal.
Detectives were also looking for witnesses and surveillance in the area of Highway 198, west of Coalinga, for both days.
Action News is working to confirm if the search happening off Highway 198 is connected to the missing woman.
