WORCESTER — A second man was arraigned on two counts of murder April 10 in connection with the November 2024 fatal shooting of a mother and son on Brookside Avenue.
A third man was expected to be arraigned on murder charges later April 10.
Jeffrey S. Toney, 29, of Attleborough was arraigned on two counts of murder and five firearm charges in Central District Court. Judge Timothy M. Bibaud entered a not guilty plea on all charges on the defendant’s behalf.
The arraignment of Shaquille Watford, 31, of Brockton on the two murder charges was delayed into the late afternoon April 10 due to a miscommunication between the court and jail.
April 8, Sheldon D. Thorpe, 22, of Fall River was also arraigned on two counts of murder.

Both Toney and Thorpe, who were concealed behind a door and listened to their charges through an opening, were ordered held without bail without prejudice. Both are slated back in court for a pretrial hearing May 22.
It is most likely that the ruling and court date will be the same for Watford.
In addition to the two murder charges, the three men are each facing weapons charges.
Authorities say the three are charged in the shooting deaths of Tracy Ann Landry, 58, and her son, Evan A. Landry, 31, the evening of Nov. 21. The shootings occurred at Tatnuck Square Apartments, off Mill Street.
Evan Landry was a 2012 graduate from North High School.

Shortly before 7:30 p.m. Nov. 21, police were dispatched for a report of gunshots, according to Sgt. Shane M. Marcotte’s report.
Police entered the apartment and located a man and woman suffering from gunshot wounds. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while the man was rushed to a hospital, where he later died.
Autopsies found one victim had four gunshot wounds and the other had eight, according to Marcotte’s report.
Marcotte noted in his report that five spent shell casings located inside the apartment are only capable of being discharged from an assault rifle.
Detectives learned that the three men left Stoughton in a rented 2023 Toyota Rav-4 with a New Jersey registration.
Upon arriving in Worcester, they entered one of the victim’s apartments with an assault rifle, according to Marcotte’s report.
Seven shorts were discharged, striking both victims several times, Marcotte’s report states.
The suspects left the apartment with large bags. U.S. currency and packages containing a green leafy substance, believed to be marijuana, were strewn about the floor, according to Marcotte’s report.
Investigators were able to track the suspects’ movement through surveillance footage, GPS information related to the vehicle and witness testimony, according to court documents.
Text messages and social media posts between one of the victims and Watford and Toney showed they knew each other.
The investigation involved police from Worcester, Weymouth, Fall River and Boston, as well as the U.S. Marshal’s Office and the state police.
