HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — A person driving a vehicle on eastbound Interstate 64 in Hampton shot at another vehicle late Wednesday night, Virginia State Police said. No injuries were reported.

VSP said it received a call at 11:50 p.m. of someone in a gold-colored sedan that had shot at another vehicle while traveling east on I-64 at mile marker 263 near Mercury Boulevard. Troopers and agents with the Bureau of Criminal Investigation are at the scene investigating.

State Police said there were no injuries, and there is no current threat to drivers or to people in the community. It said the exit ramp at Exit 263 to the James River Bridge was shut down temporarily for the investigation, and the Virginia Department of Transportation has detoured traffic while agents and troopers gathered evidence.
