Although summer is still sizzling, the spooky season is slowly creeping in, and that means it’s time to start planning your Halloween costume.
Spirt Halloween locations are about to start popping up across the country, and in Stroudsburg, the seasonal favorite is making its return to a familiar spot.
This year, Spirt Halloween is once again setting up shop at the former Rite Aid building at 228 Main St., Stroudsburg. The space, which has remained vacant and unleased, continues to serve as a convenient home for the pop-up retailer.

The building has sat empty since the Rite Aid closed roughly two years ago, following reports of a potential bankruptcy, which the national pharmacy chain eventually did file for.
According to a listing on Metro Commercial’s website, the 11,115-square-foot building on 1.5 acres of land is still available for lease as of Aug. 4, with the rate listed as negotiable.
As of Aug. 4, the Spirt Halloween website lists the Stroudsburg store as opening sometime in August, without a specific date listed. For updates and the official opening date, check the store locator at stores.spirithalloween.com throughout the month.
Other Spirit Halloween stores that are opening in August:
1911 Whitehall Mall, Whitehall
3300 Lehigh St., Allentown
1019 Commerce Blvd., Dickson City
17 Hampton House Road, Newton, New Jersey
