St. Cloud State University enhanced its degree offerings, roughly a year after it cut 42 degree programs and 50 minors.
The university on July 16 announced five new online programs to start this fall. There are two new online graduate programs — a master of business administration with a business analytics concentration and a graduate certificate in business analytics. There are also three new online undergraduate degrees in finance, marketing and management.
“At St. Cloud State, we’re opening new doors to education — flexible, relevant and designed for today’s learners,” SCSU Provost Katherina Pattit wrote in a statement. “These programs empower students with the skills and knowledge to thrive in a rapidly changing economy.”

St. Cloud State’s new programs come as Minnesota expects the need for marketing specialists to grow about14% in the next 10 years, according to the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development.
Minnesota’s 10 year job demand increase is 16% for finance managers, 9% for management analysts, 7% for marketing and operations managers.
St. Cloud State University is offering these new online programs in partnership with Risepoint, an online education organization that launched in 2007.
“By expanding high-quality, flexible business programs online, St. Cloud State is addressing the real needs of today’s learners, particularly working adults, career changers and students seeking momentum toward meaningful careers,” Risepoint CEO Fernando Bleichmar wrote in a release.
