Jun. 17—A Greensboro man was arrested following a traffic stop on Sunday evening after police discovered the engine in his vehicle was reported stolen out of Tennessee and also located marijuana and a handgun in the vehicle, according to the Priceville Police Department.

Police said they conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 65 at approximately 5 p.m. and launched a narcotics field investigation afterward. According to an affidavit, police searched 26-year-old Boris Tyrek Todd and located over 10 grams of marijuana in his front left shorts pocket during a consensual search after officers detected the odor of raw marijuana.

In addition to the marijuana and the handgun, police said they also noticed significant modifications to the vehicle’s interior and noticed the engine had been swapped.

“Further investigation revealed that the engine was from a 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, which had been reported stolen in Cleveland, Tennessee,” police said.

Todd was charged with first-degree receiving stolen property and second-degree unlawful possession of marijuana, according to the Priceville police. He remained in the Morgan County Jail on Tuesday in lieu of a $80,000 bond, according to jail records.
