Sunny skies and rising temperatures ahead for Tennessee Valley

Must read

Sep. 12—A stretch of dry and sunny weather is in store for the Tennessee Valley through the weekend and into early next week, according to the National Weather Service in Huntsville.

Forecasters said high temperatures will steadily climb each day, ranging from the mid-80s Friday and Saturday to the low and mid-90s by Monday. Lows are expected in the upper 50s to mid-60s. Rain chances remain at zero percent through Monday.

Friday and Saturday will bring highs between 86 and 91 degrees with cool morning lows near 58 to 63. By Sunday, afternoon temperatures are forecast to reach 87 to 93 degrees, with lows between 60 and 65. Monday looks to be the hottest day of the stretch, with highs rising to 89 to 95 and lows holding in the mid-60s.

The National Weather Service advised residents to practice heat safety as the warmer conditions build. That includes staying hydrated and never leaving children, adults, or pets unattended in vehicles, where temperatures can rise quickly to dangerous levels.
