MONROE, MI — The suspect in a fatal crash in Whiteford Township, appeared in First District Court before Judge Amanda Eicher on Tuesday, June 7, for a probable cause conference and will reappear for a competency review on July 22.
Brandon Suto, 24, of Oregon, Ohio, is charged with one count of reckless driving causing death and one count of failure to stop at the scene of a crash.
The collision occurred late Saturday evening, May 17, on northbound U.S.-23, near Consear Road. Police have said Suto allegedly side-swiped a vehicle driven by Kaitlyn Ellison of Petersburg, resulting in her death and the death of her unborn child.
