A “suspicious package” at Fort Gordon is causing a traffic jam as bomb squad experts assess the scene.
“The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad has responded to Gordon Highway at Jimmie Dyess Parkway at 10 a.m. this morning to assist Fort Gordon Public Safety officials with a suspicious package,” RCSO Lt. James Kelly announced Friday. “Motorists are requested to have patience in the area due to traffic being diverted.”
