A 17-year-old boy was clinging to life after being shot in the head Tuesday afternoon in Brooklyn.

Cops responded around 12:28 p.m. at the Flatbush Gardens apartment complex near Foster Ave. and Brooklyn Ave. in Flatbush, where they found the youngster with a gunshot wound to the head, cops said.

EMS transported the boy to Kings County Hospital Center, where he was in critical condition.

It remained unclear what sparked the gunfire. Police said they were looking for three males dressed in all black who ran from the shooting on foot, and were headed toward New York Ave.

Cops recovered a revolver from the scene, as well as seven 9ml shell casings and one 38ml bullet, police sources said.

The bloodshed comes in the wake of the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Javon Johnnie, who was blasted in the chest around 5 p.m. Sunday near W. 36th St. and Surf Ave. in Coney Island. He was rushed by medics to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn but could not be saved. Cops are still looking for the shooter in the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls are confidential.
