Your oven’s interior is a catchall for cooked-on grease and caked-on grime. Combine that with the reality that it’s also probably the most neglected appliance in your home in terms of cleaning, it’s safe to say that scrubbing the interior of your oven can be an overwhelming process. We present to you a $9 solution that can finally make cleaning your oven a truly painless experience.
The makers of the Easy Off professional oven cleaner fully appreciate that, for many of us, getting on your hands and knees and sticking half of your body inside an oven to scrub it is a fate worse than death. Thankfullly, it uses an advanced cold-oven technology that penetrates tough grease and old food remanenats so well, that it can be just wiped away clean in as little as 30 seconds for spot cleaning and two hours for tougher jobs, according to reviewers (though a few users claimed to leave it on over night).
“My oven looked just like the day I bought it,” one Amazon reviewer wrote after using Easy Off on their “embarrassingly dirty” oven. ”[I] let it sit overnight. The next morning, [I] wiped it all clean with a gentle wipe with a paper towel. I did literally zero scrubbing,” they claimed.
The mess-dissolving formula also works well on stovetops, broilers and broiler pans, grills and other stainless steel surfaces. Several reviewers even say it does wonders for cleaning bathroom grout, tubs and showers.
“I will NEVER buy another bathroom cleaner again,” one Amazon reviewer wrote after claiming they used Easy Off on a particularly stubborn bathtub stain that couldn’t be removed after nearly a year of trying every other product imaginable.
“When I wiped it, I was so shocked that I started laughing hysterically in disbelief. Mind you, I didn’t use a cleaning scrub. There was no manual labor, just the wipe of a paper towel. I couldn’t believe my eyes,” the same reviewer wrote.
Another major part of this professional oven cleaner’s appeal is that it’s made without lye and other corrosive ingredients. This means no noxious and throat-singeing fumes that are often associated with most professional oven cleaners.
Granted, many reviewers still say that, even though they experienced no smell while using the product, they still kept windows open and allowed their oven to “burn off” and potential chemical smells before cooking in it again. Others suggest covering the heating elements with tin foil prior to spraying.
If you’ve been holding off on this one overwhelming household task, let the incoming first-person testimony for the Easy Off oven cleaner instill in you the confidence you need. Or skip above to grab yourself a can for $9.

“Where has this been all my life? Great product!!! This went way above and beyond my expectations. I used this on my oven and grill. The picture is from the inside lid of the grill.
OVEN: I sprayed the inside of my embarrassingly dirty stove (3 years of roasting vegetables, bacon, chicken…) and let it sit overnight. The next morning it all wiped clean with a gentle wipe with a paper towel. I did literally 0 scrubbing. My oven looked just like the day I bought it. I did rinse it as well as I could, several times with just water trying to get all the chemicals off, which I think I did. I left the door open and let it air dry for a few hours. Then I fired the oven up to burn off any chemical smells before actually baking anything. Definitely an important step, sure smelled like chemicals and I was glad I could open a windy. I apologize for no before and after of the oven, because it was amazing.
GRILL: my grill was also in terrible shape. Anytime I was using the dang thing the grill pan was a fire all on its own, I was burning everything to a crisp. So, I pulled out the grill pan, all grates and sprayed the entire thing down. Inside, outside, grates, grill pan. And then I left it all for a few hours in the Oklahoma wind. Not the best idea, everything was sticky when I got back. I sprayed it down with the hose and scrubbed with some steel wool. Dang, the grill came clean too! This stuff did not stop at grease and dirt, though. I’m now missing some of the writing on the knobs of the grill. Next time, I’m going to put the grill pan & grates in a plastic trash bag so the can marinate in the cleaning solution like the oven did. I don’t think I will have to do any scrubbing that way.” — Kat“My oven was soooo gross and I was always just so scared to clean it because I knew how harsh and dangerous some oven cleaners can be… I just didn’t know how to tackle it! However I found this product on Amazon and started reading the reviews and how easy and non-toxic it was so I decided to buy it and build up the courage to take on this dreaded household task and in one Saturday night (real exciting Saturday night, I know) I cleaned my oven in just a couple hours! First thing I did was wrap the heating element on the bottom of the oven in aluminum foil so the cleaner did not get on it then I sprayed the product all over the oven with a nice hefty coating and set my timer for 2 hours. The oven was cold (very important) and I just closed the door and walked away. Two hours later I took a damp rag and started wiping all the gross GUNK away. The amount of gross tar-like gunk that came off was really concerning that I was actually cooking in this oven but man was it impressive!!! while the rag was not even remotely salvageable after the process I WAS BLOWN AWAY HOW CLEAN IT BECAME WITH JUST ONE COAT OF PRODUCT! While certain areas may need a second application, the difference was drastic! Once I got the initially gunk off and threw away the gross nasty rag I used another rag and hot water and went over the oven again just to make sure I got all the product off. I felt that this was important to do. Once that was done I left the oven door cracked open overnight to air out and surprisingly NO SMELL! However the next day I did run my oven for about 30min at about 375 degrees just to make sure there was nothing left before I started cooking in it and this part did have a slight smell but nothing that a slightly cracked window couldn’t fix. I was glad I did this step too and a couple hours later I cooked dinner in there and didn’t smell anything again and the food tasted fine and I’m still alive to tell the tale. highly recommended.” — Amanda Hall
“I came across this product in an online article and of course I was super skeptical…so I gave it a shot. I decided to do the overnight clean as I wasn’t sure it would work in one hour (there are two options – one hour and overnight). Next morning I opened my oven and saw the spray still in tact (no dripping or pool at the bottom of the oven) so far so good! I used a damp sponge and began to wipe (not scrub) and to my shock the goop and gunk just wiped off…actually WIPED OFF! I also sprayed the racks and they wiped off stupendously. I went back over each side with a paper towel to make sure I got everything and then a damp cloth so there wasn’t any residue left. I am passing the word on to all my friends and family because this stuff REALLY WORKS!! Wish I had taken a before picture but my skepticism was too strong…so here are the after pictures. This oven is over 10 years old and used daily.” — Amelia Turner
“Miracle in a spray can! I had just about given up on my stove top, and was getting ready to purchase a replacement top when I came across this product. I sprayed it on the entire surface of my stove and let it sit for two days. After that, with a little elbow grease I was able to easily remove all the extensive build up! It almost looks like brand new.
By investing few dollars and time, I was able to save so much more, since I no longer need to purchase a new stove top. Such a bargain in this little spray can.
I read a previous reviewer successfully used Easy-Off to clean dirt and build up in their tub. I was so impressed with it’s effectiveness in my kitchen that I have purchased some more of this product to try it out in my shower. This will be my last ditch effort to save my shower before I will have to put in a completely new shower. Here’s hoping that lightning strikes twice!!” — Jem
