Bristol County’s last Bertucci’s restaurant has closed.
The Bertucci’s in Mansfield, just off I-495 at the Mansfield Crossing shopping plaza, is among six to close as a result of a Chapter 11 bankruptcy petition filed April 24 in a Florida court. The filing was first obtained by Boston 25 News.
The Somerville-born Italian restaurant chain also recently closed locations in Braintree, North Andover, Norwood, and Plymouth, as well as in Warwick, R.I.
The chain previously filed for bankruptcy in 2022 and closed its restaurant at the Emerald Square mall in North Attleborough as well as in Beverly, Brockton, Canton, and Marlborough after experiencing “severe setbacks due to COVID.”
Bertucci’s first filed for bankruptcy in 2018, closing 15 locations. The company was sold later that year and continued operating the remaining locations.
Ten Bertucci’s locations in Massachusetts remain open: Chelmsford, Chestnut Hill, Framingham, Hingham, Medford, Newton, Reading, Waltham, Westborough, and a Pronto location in downtown Boston.
