These 2 Kentucky-made Fords seeing best sales in years

Must read

Two Kentucky-made Ford vehicles saw massive sales growth in the third quarter of 2025.

The Ford Expedition and its luxury counterpart, the Lincoln Navigator, which are both made at the Ford Kentucky Truck Plant, each posted years’ best sales figures.

The Ford Expedition saw third quarter sales for the months of July, August and September surpass 21,800 vehicles — a 47.4% increase in sales when compared to the same quarter in 2024. In a press release, Ford said this was Expedition’s “best third quarter in two decades.” For the year-to-date sales, Expedition has seen an increase of nearly 15% compared to 2024.

Additionally, the Lincoln Navigator is hitting “its best pace since 2007,” the release from Ford stated. The third quarter saw almost 5,000 of the luxury large SUVs sold, bolstering a 10.5% increase compared to the same quarter of 2024. In total, Navigator has sold more than 16,000 units year-to-date, a 48.4% increase compared to 2024.

Earlier this year, as part of a $500 million investment, Ford launched a new model year of the Expedition and the Lincoln Navigator out of the Kentucky Truck Plant.

The 2025 Ford Expedition is stocked with new features, including a steering wheel that presents more as a “squircle” — a crossover between a circle and a square — plus a split gate that allows drivers to open just the top portion, just the tailgate portion or both portions of the trunk, and BlueCruise, Ford’s hands-free driving experience, among other features.

All Ford vehicle sales increased by 8.2% for the third quarter, including gains in its F-Series trucks, and its electrified vehicle portfolio of EVs, hybrids and plug in vehicles, in addition to its Louisville made vehicles.

“This quarter’s growth showcases our portfolio’s unmatched flexibility and breadth,” Andrew Frick, president, Ford Blue and Model e said in a release. “We saw strong performance in gas, hybrid, and electrified powertrains, while at the same time growing our paid software solutions, all embedded in vehicles such as Expedition, Explorer and F-150.”
