There is nothing like the relief of finally arriving at your hotel after a long flight, but this is especially true when your accommodations . This was the case when I opened the door to my room at to find gleaming hardwood floors, a plush sofa, stylish accent rugs, and a king-sized bed draped in the kind of premium linens that make it hard to get out of bed in the morning. Beach-themed artwork and decor lent an elegant touch without straying over to kitsch. The bathroom was huge, with a deep soaking tub and a walk-in shower stocked with Gilchrist and Soames bath amenities. In all, the room was 535 square feet with a private balcony overlooking the harbor.

I put down my suitcase and sat on the balcony watching the seabirds dive into the water. I could have stayed all night, but I was hungry, so I quickly changed and made my way to the restaurant for dinner.

I sampled several dishes, and my favorites were the expertly prepared pan-seared diver scallops, the lobster ravioli, and the tuna tartare served with pickled okra, tomato relish, lemon zest, garlic, shallots, and toasted baguette.
