Three Stark County law enforcement agencies will receive state funding for ongoing public safety services to prevent and investigate violent crime.
The Canton Police Department will get $100,000, the Jackson Township Police Department will receive $32,500, and the Alliance Police Department will get $29,130.
The funding announced June 9 is part of more than $3 million in the latest Ohio Violent Crime Reduction Grants, aimed at preventing and investigating violent crime, helping with overtime, new technology, and patrols in high-crime areas, according to an Ohio Department of Public Safety news release.
Forty-eight law enforcement agencies in 27 counties will receive funding through the 14th round of the Ohio Violent Crime Reduction Grant Program. The grants are funded through the state’s 2024-25 operating budget.
