WARD, Ark. — A collision between a train and a passenger vehicle at the Moore Street railroad crossing in Ward on Saturday evening resulted in one a death, authorities confirmed.
Emergency personnel responded to the crash around 7:00 p.m. The individual who died in the collision has not been identified, pending notification of their next of kin.

The incident is currently under investigation by the Ward Police Department, the Lonoke County Sheriff’s Office, the Arkansas State Police, and the Union Pacific Railroad Police.
The City of Ward issued a statement extending its deepest condolences to the family and loved ones affected by the tragic event.
