A 38-year-old Tuscaloosa woman died in single-vehicle crash Aug. 23 on U.S. Highway 11.

State troopers said Tresda M. Caddell was the passenger in a 2002 GMC Yukon when the vehicle left the road and struck an embankment around 5:30 a.m. The GMC then overturned, striking a utility pole.

Caddell was ejected from the GMC and pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers said she was not wearing a seat belt.

The 66-year-old Cottondale man who was driving the GMC was not injured, according to troopers.

The crash occurred on U.S. Highway 11 in Tuscaloosa County near Cedar Cove Loop Road, about two miles east of Coaling.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division is investigating the crash.
