FOND DU LAC – Two defendants were sentenced in connection with a North Fond du Lac shooting from September 2023, Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney announced June 9.
Judge Doug Edelstein convicted Jaysen Fix, 21, and Noah Metcalf, 17, in April for the shooting, which did not result in any serious injuries. Metcalf was sentenced to six years of initial confinement and six years of extended supervision.
Fix, who was the shooter in the incident, was previously sentenced to nine years of initial confinement and nine years of extended supervision.

According to the criminal complaint, two victims called 911 after they heard a series of “pops” outside while they were sitting in the living room and found four bullet holes in the wall. One of the victims named ex-boyfriend Metcalf as a possible suspect.
In police interviews, Metcalf said he talked to Fix about the occupants of the Michigan Avenue house, then Fix admitted to shooting at the house because Metcalf told him one of the victims and witnesses had threatened his child, according to the criminal complaint.
Charges included first-degree recklessly endangering safety, and Toney said the district attorney’s office and North Fond du Lac Police Department were unable to proceed on attempted homicide charges, as they could not be proven after additional investigation.

The state recommended 10 to 12.5 years of initial confinement and five years of extended supervision.
North Fond du Lac Police Department investigated the cases, and Toney and Assistant District Attorney David Maas prosecuted.
