May 10—JAMESTOWN — Two people were sentenced recently on felony charges in Southeast District Court in Jamestown.
Joshua Michael Zimmerman, 38, Streeter, North Dakota, pleaded guilty to prohibited/possess firearm, prohibited acts A/controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia, Class C felonies.
Zimmerman was accused of being convicted of a felony and owning, controlling or having a firearm in possession within five years of the date of a conviction or the date of release from incarceration, parole or probation with previous convictions in 2015 and 2021, possessing amphetamine with a previous conviction in 2015, and possessing items used to introduce methamphetamine into the human body with a previous conviction in 2015 on May 30, 2024.
Judge James Shockman sentenced Zimmerman to 120 days in the Stutsman County Correctional Center. Shockman placed Zimmerman on 18 months supervised probation and ordered him to pay a $400 criminal administration fee, $100 defense/facility administration fee and a $25 victim-witness fee.
A Class C felony is punishable by five years in prison and $10,000 fine.
Sara Lynn Silberg, 35, Jamestown, pleaded guilty to prohibited acts A/controlled substances, a Class C felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class A misdemeanor.
Silberg was accused of possessing fentanyl with previous convictions in 2016, 2017 and 2021 and possessing tinfoil used to introduce fentanyl into the human body on Oct. 11.
Shockman sentenced Silberg to six months in the Stutsman County Correctional Center and placed her on two years supervised probation. Silberg is allowed to serve her sentence through electronic home monitoring. Shockman also ordered Silberg to pay a $400 criminal administration fee, $100 defense/facility administration fee and a $25 victim-witness fee.
