A person was found fatally stabbed early April 23 in the area of S.E. 2nd and California Avenue, Topeka police said.
No arrests had been made.
The victim’s name, age and gender hadn’t been made public.

Police and rescue workers were called about 12:45 a.m. to the scene near Ripley Park, where they found the victim suffering from life-threatening injuries, said Lt. John Trimble, of the Topeka Police Department.
The victim died after being taken to a Topeka hospital, he said.
The killing was Topeka’s fifth homicide this year.
