Walkersville officials have approved road closures for two parades in the town, in October and December.
The Walkersville High School homecoming parade will be held on Oct. 3, with lineup for the parade at 4:30 p.m. on Glade Road and the parade beginning at 5 p.m.
The parade will go from Glade Road to Frederick Street, and on to the high school at 81 W. Frederick St., Burgess Chad Weddle said at a meeting of the burgess and commissioners Wednesday.
The annual Christkindlmarket parade will be held 10 a.m. on Dec. 6.
Participants will line up on Glade Road, Weddle said.
The route will proceed from Glade Road to Frederick Street to Fulton Avenue to Pennsylvania Avenue and back to Glade Road, he said.
The town’s commissioners unanimously approved the road closures for both parades.
