Walmart plans to remodel more than 650 stores across most of the U.S. this year, including several in Wisconsin.
The Badger State is one of 47 that will see renovations as part of Walmart’s “Stores of the Future” project, USA TODAY reported.
Planned changes include new signage, expanded departments, new pharmacy layouts and more, according to an April 23 press release. In addition to remodeling existing locations, Walmart also has plans to build or convert more than 150 stores.
The retail giant has invested more than $560 million to upgrade locations across the state in the past five years, not including upcoming renovations, it said in the release.

Three stores across Wisconsin are included in planned remodels. Here’s a list:
Green Bay: 2440 W. Mason St.
Menomonie: 180 Cedar Falls Road
Plover: 250 Crossroads Road
Will stores be closed during remodels?
No. Stores will remain open while undergoing renovations, Mark Rickel, Walmart’s director of corporate communications, told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel in an email.
How many Walmart stores are in Wisconsin?
There are 97 Walmart locations in Wisconsin, according to its website.
