Sep. 20—Wanda Lucile DenetDele Mansell Sunrise: February 20, 1935 Sunset: August 27, 2025 Wanda Lucile DenetDele Mansell, 90, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Tuba City, AZ, to Fred DenetDele (Dine) and Rena LeFlore (Choctaw), Wanda left home at 14 to attend Haskell Institute in Kansas, where she met her future husband, Floyd Mansell. She later became a Registered Nurse after graduating from St. Margaret’s Catholic School of Nursing. Wanda and Floyd settled in Magdalena, NM, where they raised nine children and became active members of their community. Wanda devoted over 40 years to nursing, including 25+ years at the Alamo Health Clinic. She received the Nurses Living Legend Award for her service. She was active in numerous associations and advocacy efforts, including traveling to Washington, D.C. for national children’s health conferences. Wanda loved painting, pottery, bird watching, piano, and country drives with her devoted dachshund, Hoppy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; and sons, James, Mark, and Sean Mansell. She is survived by her sister, six children, 40 grandchildren, and 57 great-grandchildren. A Rosary and Mass will be held September 27, 2025, 9:30am at St Mary Magdalene Church in Magdalena, NM.
