Washington Ruritan Club honored its four Rising Seniors for 2025 during a recent club meeting.
The students received flowers, a certificate, Ruritan backpacks and $1,500 to further their education. They also were recognized at their school recognition assemblies.
Honored were:
Trent Lofland, who received the Marion Rummell Award.
Lea Collins, who received the Ruritan Build Your Dollars Award.
Jacob Dine, who received the Dwight Ickes Award.
Matthew Frederick, who received the Don Krabill Award.
The Rising Seniors spent a year as club members and were involved in various service projects. They rang bells for the Salvation Army, took part in squirt gun battles from the Ruritan float at local parades, taught Scouts to bowl, and learned better to work with others and to achieve group goals. The students worked with club member Chris Leasure, who served as the Rising Senior adviser.
