It’s gearing up to be another wet weekend in Greenville as the community heads into the first full weekend of June.
The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook at 3:05 a.m., though June 6 was expected to be mostly sunny during the day. The outlook warned of possible storms to come, accompanied by risks such as hail and damaging winds.

Thunderstorms in Greenville, SC this weekend?
The hazardous weather outlook was issued for Upstate as well as the Western and Piedmont regions of North Carolina and northeast Georgia. It warned that scattered showers and thunderstorms on Friday, June 6, could become severe, with “damaging winds along with small hail.”
Conditional threats for severe weather may be possible again from Saturday, June 7, through Thursday, June 12, depending on where organized storms track. If a “complex of thunderstorms” does track into the area, the NWS warned that damaging winds can be expected.

While the possibility of damaging winds in the Greenville area was mentioned in the NWS alert, no floods, including nuisance floods, were mentioned as a hazard.

Saturday, June 7: A 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3 p.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 90 degrees. West southwest wind 7-11 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
Overnight, a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 8 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 69 degrees. West southwest wind 6-9 mph. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Sunday, June 8: A chance of showers, then showers and thunderstorms likely after 11 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 86 degrees. West southwest wind 9-13 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
Overnight, showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 9 p.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 66 degrees. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
