Weis Markets has donated the proceeds of a program to collect school donations to the Oley Valley School District.

The check for $6,895 was presented to Oley school officials Sept 16.

The money was raised throughout the 2024-25 school year as part of the grocery store chain’s sixth annual Weis 4 Schools program.

Through the program, customers in participating school districts can register their Weis Rewards cards to accumulate donations for their school when they shop at the store.

“Our Weis 4 School program offers our customers a convenient way to support their local schools,” Mario Rizzo, Weis Markets vice president of marketing and advertising, said in a press release.

Last year’s program generated about $500,000 for over 700 participating schools across the store’s seven-state market area, according to Weis.

Schools and customers interested in participating in Weis 4 Schools can register for the program’s 2025-26 donation drive at weis4school.com. Registration for the upcoming year’s program ends Oct. 31.

All schools ranging from pre-k through eighth grade are eligible to participate, including public, private, religious schools, and daycare centers.

Weis operates over 200 stores in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, West Virginia and Virginia.

The grocery chain has multiple locations in the region. In Berks County, Weis stores are located in Wyomissing, West Lawn, Reading, Oley, Kutztown, and Hamburg. In Montgomery County, stores are located in Lansdale, Norristown, Upper Moreland Township, and Conshohocken.
