Bucking the trend of brick-and-mortar stores closing, Target has announced 48 new stores will be opening in 22 states, including several in Florida.

Among factors Target said it considers when planning new stores are site constraints and “how we can best meet a community’s needs.

Here’s where Target is planning on opening new stores:

How does Target decide where to put new stores?

“From the Big Apple to the California coast and in between, our stores are at the center of how we serve our guests. And that’s why we’re continuing to invest in new stores in neighborhoods across the country,” Target said on its website.

“We’re always exploring locations for new stores. But how do we decide where to open a new Target next? We look at a number of factors, like how we can best meet a community’s needs, site constraints, other area Target stores and more.”

How many Target stores are there in Florida?

According to Target’s website, there are 85 stores in Florida.

Target keeping 2024 prices on school supplies

Target announced in June it will be “maintaining 2024 prices on key back-to-school items, including its popular list of 20 must-have supplies — still adding up to a total of less than $20 — and last year’s top-selling $5 backpack.”

When is the Florida back-to-school sales tax holiday for 2025?
