Independence Day is just a few days away, and several communities across the West Tennessee region are gearing up for a weekend of fireworks and festivities.
Festivities start on July 3 and carry into the July 4 weekend across Madison County and he surrounding areas.
Events on July 3
In Milan, the Kimberlie Helton Band will perform a live concert at the amphitheater in Milan City Park on July 3 starting at 6 p.m. Food trucks will also be available, and the fireworks show is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m.
The City of Bolivar is celebrating five years of its annual “Red, White, and Bolivar” event on July 3 from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Located at Sand Beach Lake’s new amphitheater, visitors can experience fireworks starting at sundown, live music from Party Planet, and eat from food vendors.
Bethel Springs City Park will host an Independence Day Celebration beginning at 5 p.m., complete with water slides, live music, food trucks, and a fireworks display set to begin at dark.
Also on July 3, a fireworks show will begin at dusk in Medina at the Medina Community Park.
Events on the Fourth of July
Jackson’s “Firefighters Freedom Festival” is returning to Madison County on July 4 at the Jackson Regional Airport with gates opening at 4 p.m., and the Kimberly Helton Band taking the stage at 5 p.m. Hosted by the Madison County Fire Department, attendees can play games, see live music, eat from food trucks, and see a professional fireworks show.
Jackson Rockabilly fans can see a post-game fireworks show on July 4 at Rockabilly Stadium. The game against the O’Fallon Hoots will begin at 7 p.m. with fireworks to follow when the game is over.
For free admission, “Martin Loves America” returns to the City of Martin on July 4. Hosted at the Martin Recreation Complex, fireworks will begin at 9 p.m. and guests are encouraged to arrive early.
Two fireworks displays will take place in Gibson County on July 4, one at Dyer Park in Dyer starting at 9 p.m. and another at Kenton City Park in Kenton at 9 p.m.
In Gates, the Forked Deer Community Park will host a fireworks show starting at 9 p.m.
Celebrating the “Festival of Lakes” at Beech Lake in Lexington, attendees can participate in cardboard boat races at 2 p.m., see a boat parade at 4 p.m., listen to live music starting at 5:15 p.m., and watch a fireworks display at 9 p.m.
Festivities will start on July 4 and continue into July 5 in Union City at the Discovery Park of America. A full schedule of events can be found here.
