The newest iPhone is expected to be announced during a Sept. 9 event, meaning it could hit the market in the coming weeks.
Many technology experts and Apple fanatics have made their predictions regarding the upcoming iPhone 17 and its accompanying models, adding that it could be revealed soon.
As in previous years, Apple is expected to announce the release of the newest generation of iPhones at its 2025 launch event in September, with the devices set to go on sale shortly after. The last two series of iPhones were both announced in September of 2023 and 2024, and the devices hit the market within the next month.
Here’s what we know about the release of the next iPhone.
Apple’s announcement is widely expected to occur during the company’s Sept. 9 event.
Since 2012, Apple has introduced new iPhones to the market in September, and this year is not expected to be much different. Both Forbes and consumer technology publication CNET predict the announcement of the phone will come, as usual, during the annual event.
As for when it will be physically available in stores, sources believe it will be in the weeks following the announcement. For example, the iPhone 16 hit the shelves on Sept. 20 last year, weeks after it was first announced on Sept. 9.
Apple is rumored to be releasing a new member of the iPhone family: the iPhone 17 Air.
Engadget reports that the new phone will be the thinnest iPhone yet, measuring roughly 5.55 mm in thickness. Many believe this is in response to the trend of the “skinny phone,” including the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge. However, experts note this will come with some possible compromises to the hardware, such as only one camera and a smaller battery.
CNET predicts it will be priced around $599, similar to the iPhone 16E, which was released earlier this year. It is unknown what it will look like or be made out of.
Details about the iPhone 17 and its Pro models are limited. However, rumors suggest that the Pro iPhone will receive some enhancements and updates.
“The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are rumored to switch from titanium to aluminum,” Engadget reported. “They could also see the rear camera array expand to an entire “island” that extends across most of the phone’s backside.”
In Tennessee, there are only five physical Apple store locations. Three are located in Middle Tennessee.
