After a slightly chilly Memorial Day weekend, when temperatures barely reached 70 degrees in some parts of the state, Illinois residents are ready for some sun.
Luckily, the National Weather Service is forecasting warmer temperatures throughout the remainder of the week, with central Illinois reaching the low 80s. Make sure to pack an umbrella though, because scattered showers are also predicted.
Here’s the forecast for the rest of the week.
Central Illinois forecast
Tuesday: Scattered showers. High of 72 and low of 54 degrees.
Wednesday: Chance of showers north of I-74 during the day. High of 74 and low of 52 degrees.
Thursday: Chance of showers and some sun during the day. High of 74 and low of 52 degrees.
Friday: Partly cloudy. High of 80 and low of 57 degrees.
Saturday: A chance of thunderstorms during the day. High of 84 and low of 56 degrees.
Chicago forecast
Tuesday: Periods of showers. High of 72 and low of 54 degrees. Temperatures will be cooler near the shoreline of Lake Michigan for the rest of the week.
Wednesday: Showers. High of 68 and low of 48 degrees.
Thursday: Showers with a chance of sun. High of 73 and low of 50 degrees.
Friday: Sunny with some showers. High of 79 and low of 55 degrees.
Saturday: Partly sunny with a chance of light showers during the day. High of 83 and low of 51 degrees.
