Hobby Lobby founder David Green was notably absent from the Forbes 2025 World’s Billionaires List, having been ranked #139 in 2024 with a net worth of $13.7 billion from the retail giant.
The 82-year-old Hobby Lobby founder had vowed previously to give away his company rather than sell it or pass it down to his family. In 2022, he said this was because he saw wealth as “a curse.”
According to Forbes, Green was removed from the Forbes 400 Richest Americans list in 2024 after he “put his Hobby Lobby equity into an irrevocable trust designed to support nonprofits and ministries.”
