Grab your water bottle before you leave the house, temperatures may hit triple digits in Phoenix.
Meteorologist Alicia Ryan at the Phoenix National Weather Service explained temperatures are expected to rise in the Phoenix area, and Thursday, April 10, could be the first 100-degree day of the year.
Phoenix’s first 100-degree day of 2024 was April 21, according to the weather service. If temperatures reach 100 degrees on April 10 in 2025, it will be consistent with the first 100-degree day of 2018. The earliest recorded 100-degree day in Phoenix was March 26, 1988.
Ryan said this time of year is commonly when Phoenix sees its first triple-digit forecasts, and June is when 100-degree weather typically becomes consistent. Between now and June, temperatures are expected to steadily rise.
According to the weather service, Friday, April 11, is expected to be the hottest day of the week, reaching 102 degrees with mostly sunny skies. The anticipated low temperature on Friday is 68 degrees, with 5 mph northwest winds becoming calm in the evening.
On Saturday, April 12, the weather service said it expected to see 100-degree temperatures with mostly sunny skies and wind blowing southwest between 5 and 10 MPH. The low temperature expected for April 12 is 69 degrees with mostly cloudy skies and wind becoming light and variable.
Temperatures may dip by Sunday, April 13, when the high temperature is expected to drop to 94 degrees with mostly sunny skies. The forecast showed a low of 67 degrees with partly cloudy skies and 5 MPH southwest winds calming in the evening.
