Karen Read’s second trial in connection with the death of her boyfriend, Boston police officer John O’Keefe, continues on Monday in Dedham’s Norfolk Superior Court before Judge Beverly Cannone.
The jury is expected to hear a half day of witness testimony on Monday. Jurors will be sent home at lunch to facilitate a voir dire hearing for two accident reconstruction experts testifying for Read’s defense.

Those experts, who work for the firm ARCCA, were first hired by the federal government and concluded O’Keefe’s injuries were not consistent with a car crash. At the hearing, they will be questioned about the extent of their relationship and communications with Read and her lawyers.
Read, 45, is charged with second-degree murder in the death of O’Keefe, who was found outside the home of a fellow Boston police officer on Jan. 29, 2022.
Norfolk County prosecutors say Read struck O’Keefe with her SUV while driving intoxicated. Read’s attorneys say her car never struck O’Keefe and that others are to blame for his death.
